How Many Bottles do I need to submit?

a minimum of 2x 500ml or larger is required. We also accept 475ml cans (please avoid swing tops).

What is this competition?

A homebrew competition where brewers from across the known beer-producing universe can submit their finest creations for judging, glory, prizes, and the occasional questionable life decision.

When is the competition?

Judging and the awards will take place on 30 October 6:00pm onwards

What styles of beer can I enter?

Any style you like.

IPA, lager, pilsner, stout, porter, sour, Belgian, wheat beer, experimental beer, or something that defies all known beer classification systems.

If you brewed it, we want to see it.

Where can I drop my beer off?

Entries can be dropped off at either:

How will the beers be judged?

Beers will be judged using BJCP-style judging, with beers assessed across the appropriate characteristics for their style.

Expect judges to take your beer very seriously.

Possibly more seriously than you intended.

Can I watch the judging?

The judging evening is open to anyone interested in seeing how BJCP-style judging works.

It's also a great opportunity for anyone considering becoming a BJCP judge to see the process first-hand. You may also get included for peoples choice award.

Can I become a judge?

Possibly.

If you're interested in BJCP judging, come along and see how it works.

You may even find yourself being handed a glass, a scoresheet and a responsibility you definitely didn't agree to five minutes earlier.

Are there prizes?

Yes.

There will be prizes for the best beers across the competition.

There may also be a People's Choice Award, where the people get to decide what the people apparently like.

You must be in attendance to recieve your prize, if you are not in attendance you prize may be consumed or given away to the next best in line.

Do I have to attend the awards if I win?

Yes.

Prizes will only be awarded to entrants who are present at the judging and awards.

If you win but have already disappeared into another dimension, your prize stays here.

Is there a prize for costumes?

There may be.

We're encouraging everyone to embrace the theme, and a Best Dressed award may be awarded to the person who commits hardest to the whole interdimensional beer nonsense.

Do I have to dress up?

No.

But you absolutely should.

Scientists, aliens, mad brewers, interdimensional travellers, suspiciously intelligent cats... whatever fits the theme.

Can commercial breweries enter?

This competition is intended for homebrewers, so entries should be brewed by the person entering them rather than being commercially produced beer.

Can I enter more than one beer?

Yes, provided each beer is registered as its own entry and meets the entry requirements.

The more universes you conquer, the better.

What happens if my beer doesn't win?

You drink it, we drink it, we all enjoy it (maybe on that last one)

Honestly, that's still a pretty good outcome.

Is this a serious competition?

Yes.

The judging is conducted seriously, beers are judged against appropriate criteria, and prizes are up for grabs.

But we're also here to have a bloody good time, drink interesting beer and meet other brewers.

So take the beer seriously.

Anything else I should know?

Bring good beer.

Bring questionable beer.

Bring your enthusiasm.

Bring your best outfit.
